Install on Windows
Sail comes as a normal Windows installer from GitHub.
- Open the latest release on GitHub.
- Under Assets, download the Windows installer (the
.exe). - Run it and pick where to install Sail.
- Open Sail Launcher from the Start menu or the desktop shortcut.
- Import your Steam library or add a game yourself. First steps shows how.
Windows may warn about apps downloaded outside the Microsoft Store. Check that the installer came from the Sail Launcher releases page, then choose More info → Run anyway.
Updating#
Sail checks for a new version a few seconds after it starts, and offers to download and install it for you, then restarts. You can check any time with Check Updates in Settings → Saves & Data. Your library and settings are kept, because they live in your user folder, not where Sail is installed. Every version and what changed in it is on the versions page.
Betas#
Beta builds are marked Pre-release on GitHub and listed on the betas page. They get new features first and may have rough edges.
