Browsing
Everything about getting from one folder to another.
Navigation#
- Home and Drives to start from, and a breadcrumb path along the top.
- Real Windows file icons, sorting, filtering and several layouts.
- Keyboard shortcuts for moving around.
- Drag files or folders onto any part of the breadcrumb path to move them into that folder. The same copy and move rules apply as for any other drop.
- Jump straight to cmd, PowerShell or bash from the address bar.
Tabs#
- Open lots of folders as tabs and drag them around to reorder them.
- Tear a tab off into its own window, or move tabs between panes and windows.
- Tab previews, and a history of closed tabs so you can bring one back.
- Tab groups keep related folders together.
- Tab projects save a whole workspace so you can open it again later.
Split panes#
Browse two folders side by side. Your tabs, panes, window position and workspace all come back the way you left them, even after restarting Windows.
Search#
Press Ctrl+F and files show up as you type. Turn on subfolders to dig deeper. There's no index to build or wait for.
The sidebar#
- Pin your favourite folders to Quick Access, with custom names and icons.
- Make your own lists of pinned folders and drag them into the order you want.
- Drag a folder onto a sidebar section to pin it, or move pins between sections.
- Collapse sections; they remember whether they're open.
